COVID 19

COVID-19: UPDATE May 2022

In accordance with the advice of our professional body and regulator, I can confirm that I am still available to treat patients in Ealing and the OCC, albeit in a more slightly controlled way.

Osteopaths are permitted to offer face-to-face consultations for people who:

  • do not have any symptoms of COVID-19

  • are not self-isolating due to exposure to someone who has tested positive or are in quarantine

As an osteopathic consultation requires the osteopath and patient to breach the 1m social distancing guideline, we will need to discuss the risks AND benefits of a face-to-face consultation before an appointment is booked.

It is important that you tell me if you have been advised to ‘shield’. As part of this discussion I will also explain what I have implemented to help minimise the chances of infection whilst you are here, including changes to the look and feel of the treatment session and my use of PPE. This will help you to make an informed decision about coming to see me for treatment.

If you would like to book an appointment, please contact me to discuss your case further. My telephone number is 07497 810634 and my email is cutticaosteoathy@gmail.com or alternatively please use the contact form on my website.

Before you attend an appointment, please familiarise yourself with my COVID policy below.

MY COVID POLICY

This policy is based on the most recent Public Health England advice and is therefore likely to change (May 2022).

PLEASE CHECK IT BEFORE EACH VISIT

WHAT I WILL DO

  • I will text you the day before your appointment with a reminder and to verify that you are well

  • I will wash my hands before and after seeing each patient

  • Following Public Health England guidance for all healthcare practitioners, I will use an appropriate level of PPE: I will wear a mask when within 2m of you.

  • I will ensure that appointments run to time to minimise the risk of patients crossing paths

  • The cloakroom is only to be used in cases of emergency

  • I will disinfect surfaces and ‘often touched areas’ such as the plinth, pillows and door handles after each patient leaves

  • If I am unwell on the day of your appointment, I will contact you immediately

WHAT YOU CAN DO

  • You MUST NOT attend if you develop a fever, a new cough, shortness of breath or loss/ change to taste or smell prior to your appointment. This is also true if you have been advised to quarantine for any other reason.

  • Please bring and wear a mask for the duration of your treatment.

  • Current advice is to stay at home for 5 days if you have any of these symptoms. If someone you live with has symptoms, you need to self isolate for 10 days from the day the first person in the home started showing symptoms.

  • If you develop symptoms, please DO NOT go to your GP, pharmacy or hospital. A useful link for deciding what to do or if you are worried is: 111.nhs.uk/covid-19. Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

  • The cancellation fee will be waived for anyone not attending for COVID-19 related reasons, but I would be grateful if you could let me know as soon as possible.

ASSUMING YOU ARE WELL AND CAN ATTEND YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Please arrive at your exact appointment time

  • An adult patient can be accompanied by a chaperone, if required.

  • If accompanying a child, both parents are allowed in the treatment room

  • If you are bringing a baby, please bring a clean muslin cloth for them to lie on whilst they are being examin

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
