Osteopathic Centre for Children

The Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) is a charity that was founded in 1991 with the aim of providing  osteopathy to all children regardless of the parents' ability to pay, and since its inception has become an established model of practise treating approximately 22,000 patients in the UK every year.

It is also a world recognised teaching institution offering qualified osteopaths the opportunity to study paediatric osteopathy. In 2022 the OCC introduced a one year Certificate in Paediatric Osteopathy (CPO) covering babies up to two years of age, with those keen to progress onto the more advanced Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy (DPO) as a seperate year offering. Based in a clinic environment, this pathway provides qualified osteopaths the opportunity to work and study in the OCC clinic under the guidance of a paediatric team where they can acquire the essential skills and knowledge they need to safely manage paediatric patients.

The OCC now offers appointments from Tuesday to Friday every week from its new hub in Butlers Wharf, beside London Bridge. Every clinic is run by qualified osteopaths under the supervision of specialist paediatric tutors and consultants.

I work as a tutor at the OCC every other Friday.

The OCC specialises in treating babies, children and mothers for a wide range of issues, some common like feeding and sleeping problems and other, less common, but more serious issues.
